About the Role
We are seeking a committed and resilient Primary Teacher to work with Year 4 and Year 5 pupils in Widnes. The role involves supporting and teaching pupils who present challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including ADHD and autism.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, provide structure and consistency, and create a supportive environment that helps pupils succeed both academically and socially. This role requires a teacher who is confident managing behaviour and passionate about supporting children who may require additional guidance and understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly in Maths and English.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, including ADHD and autism.
  • Manage and respond effectively to challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to support individual learning needs.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to support plans where required.
  • Create a structured, inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe and supported.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Have experience working with SEND pupils, particularly those with ADHD and autism.
  • Be confident and calm when managing challenging behaviour.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Be patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
