SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support Role (Start: September 2026)

We are delighted to be working with a fantastic Primary School in Oldbury—one we’ve proudly supported with staffing for over three years—as they look to welcome a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to their team.


About the Role

Starting in September 2026, this is a full-time position supporting a child in Year 1 on a 1:1 basis.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing tailored, one-to-one support to help the child access learning
  • Building a strong, trusting relationship to support both academic and emotional development
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and interventions
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive engagement in the classroom

This role offers the opportunity to make a real, lasting impact, with potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is not only experienced but truly committed to supporting children with additional needs:

  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children, ideally within an SEN setting
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Childcare, or similar (desirable)
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach
  • Strong initiative and the ability to adapt to individual needs
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and making a difference
