The setting promotes a supportive and inclusive ethos, helping young people rebuild confidence, improve behaviour, and achieve positive outcomes.

The school is looking to appoint a permanent Functional Skills Teacher from September 2026 on a full-time basis. The successful Functional Skills Teacher will be responsible for delivering Functional Skills Maths and English to KS3 and KS4 students, many of whom may present with SEMH needs or disengagement from mainstream education, requiring strong behaviour management and a creative teaching approach.

The successful Functional Skills Teacher will have:

• QTS or relevant teaching qualification
• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and English
• Experience working with KS3 / KS4 students in alternative provisions or similar settings
• Strong behaviour management and classroom engagement skills
• A creative and adaptable approach to teaching and learning
• A proactive, resilient and ‘can-do’ attitude
