Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher, specialising in Geography and open to teaching Religious Studies?

Do you set high expectations for your students, supporting them to meet their full potential, and engaging all levels of learners?

Do you have experience teaching AQA Geography and/or Religious Studies GCSE?

TeacherActive are supporting a growing 11-18 school to recruit a qualified Geography Teacher for September 2026. The ideal candidate will also be able to deliver Religious Studies lessons at KS3 and KS4, though the timetable would be mainly Geography up to KS4. The school does have a sixth form so experience teaching KS5 Geography would be beneficial, but not essential. The school teaches AQA GCSE Geography and RS, so experience in this area would be an asset.

This secondary school sets high expectations for both staff and students, promoting academic excellence across all subjects and maintaining good behaviour. Extracurricular activities are highly encouraged at this school, allowing staff and students to build a positive school community outside of lessons as well. The school is well-run and has a clear vision for its students which can be seen across lessons and whole school initiatives.

To be considered for this role, you will:

• Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and confident classroom presence
• Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Hold a relevant degree in Geography, Religion, and/or Philosophy
• Have experience teaching Religious Studies alongside Geography in a previous role or during your teacher training
• Foster positive relationships with your students, setting and maintaining high expectations
• Demonstrate high standards of professionalism
• Communicate clearly and confidently, verbally and in writing
• Hold UK Right to Work
