Location: Halewood, Merseyside
Days: Full time (Monday–Friday)
TeacherActive are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary academy in Halewood to recruit a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team.
This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone confident in maths and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
The Role
- Monday & Friday: Delivering maths lessons to students, following a broad and engaging curriculum
- Tuesday–Thursday: Providing Learning Support Assistant (LSA) cover across the school
- Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom to promote progress, engagement, and positive behaviour
- Working closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to meet individual pupil needs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience teaching or supporting maths up to Key Stage 4 (desirable)
- Confidence delivering engaging and accessible maths lessons
- A good understanding of how to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, ASC, and ADHD (desirable)
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
