We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to inclusive education and wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who thrive with the right support, encouragement, and consistency.

The Role

You will:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support students with Autism and SEMH needs
  • Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Encourage curiosity, practical learning, and student participation
  • Support students to build confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
  • Work closely with pastoral teams, teaching assistants, and families
  • Contribute to a therapeutic and relationship-focused approach to education

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has experience teaching Science at secondary level
  • Understands the challenges faced by students with additional needs
  • Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • Can build strong relationships and inspire disengaged learners
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is passionate about helping every student achieve their potential
