Salary: £92.63 - £130 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Bury, who are looking to appoint an SEMH Teaching Assistant. This supportive setting provides a nurturing and structured environment for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, encouraging pupils to build confidence, independence and positive relationships.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis with a flexible start date. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be supporting students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, working closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour and require additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs

• Previous experience managing challenging behaviour within an educational setting

• Team Teach training desirable

• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

• A calm, patient and resilient approach

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
