Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Salary: £95 - £100 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school based in Darlington. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students with SEMH needs, placing a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour strategies and building trusting relationships. Staff within the setting are committed to helping every student achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a day-to-day basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be supporting students with SEMH needs across a variety of age groups, helping to manage behaviour positively, encourage engagement within lessons and provide emotional support throughout the school day.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, specifically SEMH
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A proactive and adaptable attitude
• Experience working within a school or care setting
