SEND Learning Support Assistant

Salary: £14.26 - £18.00 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND provision in Bridgwater that supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and complex needs. The setting offers a highly structured and nurturing environment, focusing on communication, emotional regulation and helping pupils develop independence through personalised learning approaches.
The school is looking to appoint a SEND Learning Support Assistant on a long-term basis starting September 2026. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting children with ASD, sensory needs and behaviours that challenge, using consistent and tailored strategies to support engagement and progress.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASD and complex needs
• A strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
• A patient, calm and child-centred approach
• The ability to build positive relationships and engage pupils effectively
• Experience supporting communication and independence skills
• A proactive and adaptable attitude
