About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school team. This role involves supporting pupils across the primary age range, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

The position may include working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing additional support to help them thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, where required
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and activities
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and development
  • Contribute to monitoring pupil progress and reporting to staff

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with primary-aged children
  • Is patient, nurturing, and adaptable
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Is proactive and able to use their initiative
  • Has experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential)
  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) or equivalent experience (desirable)
