Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School

We are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Treherbert. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting in September and continuing for the full academic year.
The successful candidate will work across the primary age range, supporting pupils within the classroom and delivering targeted numeracy and literacy intervention support to help learners reach their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Be confident supporting children across KS1 and KS2
- Have a good understanding of literacy and numeracy intervention strategies
- Be patient, proactive and nurturing in their approach
- Possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Be able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
- Have experience supporting children with a range of learning abilities and needs
The Role Includes:
- Supporting pupils within the general classroom environment
- Delivering small group and 1:1 literacy and numeracy interventions
- Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
- Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback where required
- Encouraging pupil confidence, independence and participation
