TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Primary School in Hengoed that is seeking to appoint a dedicated HLTA. This welcoming school is committed to supporting every child to reach their potential and provides a nurturing environment despite the challenges presented by a high level of additional and behavioural needs across the setting.

The school is looking to take on a HLTA on a part-time basis, working 4 days per week within the Foundation Phase. The successful HLTA will support teaching and learning across the classroom, work closely with pupils who present complex needs and behavioural difficulties, and demonstrate resilience, confidence and consistency when managing challenging situations.

The successful HLTA will have:

• HLTA qualification or relevant classroom-based qualification

• Experience working within a Primary School setting

• Experience supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour

• Strong behaviour management skills

• The ability to remain calm, resilient and consistent under pressure

• A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning
