Salary: £15 - £17 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming secondary school in Bedlington that is looking to appoint a School Cook. The school prides itself on providing a positive learning environment for its students and benefits from a fantastic kitchen team with excellent facilities and equipment to support staff in delivering a high-quality catering service.

The school is looking to take on a School Cook on a long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right School Cook. Working Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm, the successful School Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals, maintaining food hygiene standards, supporting stock management and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently each day.

The successful School Cook will have:

• City & Guilds qualification in Catering, Professional Cookery or a minimum Level 4 Culinary qualification (essential)
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent desirable
• Previous experience working as a School Cook, Cook, Catering Assistant or within a commercial kitchen
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
• Ability to prepare meals efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
