Salary: £100 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Newcastle that is looking to appoint a Science Technician. The school has a well-established Science department and is committed to providing engaging, hands-on learning experiences that enable students to develop their scientific knowledge and practical skills.

The school is seeking a Science Technician on a long-term basis, with permanent opportunities available for the right Science Technician. The successful Science Technician will be responsible for stock taking, preparing science classrooms and practical resources, maintaining equipment and working closely with Science Teachers and departmental staff to support the delivery of lessons across KS3 and KS4.

The successful Science Technician will have:

• Previous experience working as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a science setting
• Experience preparing equipment and resources for practical lessons
• Strong organisational and stock management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• A proactive and reliable approach to supporting teaching and learning
