TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream Primary School in Consett, who are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant. The school has a supportive and inclusive ethos, with a strong commitment to ensuring every child can achieve their full potential within a positive learning environment.

The school is looking to take on a SEN Teaching Assistant on a day-to-day basis from September. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be providing 1:1 support to pupils across all primary year groups, supporting children with a range of SEND needs and working closely with class teachers to promote engagement, progress and wellbeing.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEND within a school setting

• Knowledge of a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties

• Experience providing effective 1:1 support

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach

• A positive and proactive attitude
