TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH school in Bristol that provides a nurturing and supportive environment for young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support. The school promotes positive relationships, individual achievement and personal development, ensuring every student is encouraged to succeed both academically and socially.
The school is looking to appoint a SEND English Teacher on a permanent, full-time basis from September 2026. The successful SEND English Teacher will deliver engaging English lessons, support students with SEMH needs, maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, and work collaboratively with the wider school team to promote positive outcomes for all learners.
The successful SEND English Teacher will have:
• QTS, ECT or NQT status
• Experience teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4
• A strong understanding of SEMH and associated barriers to learning
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour support strategies
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach to teaching
