Salary: £90 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Northumberland, supporting students aged 9-16. The school is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where young people are encouraged to build confidence, develop resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant on either a long-term or short-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with students who have SEMH needs, trauma backgrounds, and behavioural challenges, providing both academic and emotional support while promoting positive engagement and wellbeing throughout the school day.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

• Experience supporting young people who have experienced trauma

• Strong behaviour management skills

• A calm, patient, and resilient approach

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
