TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Maldon, Essex, to recruit a dedicated Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive and structured environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and independence, with a strong focus on wellbeing and positive outcomes.

The school is looking to appoint a permanent Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. The successful Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant will support students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, delivering engaging sports activities, promoting positive behaviour, and providing classroom support to help students access learning and achieve their full potential.

The successful Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people in a coaching, mentoring or educational setting

• A recognised sports coaching qualification or relevant experience

• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour

• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• A positive, resilient and proactive approach
