TeacherActive is proud to be working with a variety of welcoming primary schools in the Walthamstow area, who are looking to appoint Teaching Assistant's to support pupils across Key Stage 1 / KS1 and Key Stage 2 / KS2. Each school provides a supportive and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on helping children feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.

Schools are looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September. The successful Teaching Assistant will be supporting children on a 1:1 basis, including pupils with EHCPs, SEMH, ASD and personal care needs, while helping to promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, sports coaching or prison setting

Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis

A good understanding of SEMH, ASD, EHCPs or additional needs

Confidence supporting with personal care where required

A patient, resilient and proactive approach

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
