Salary: £92.63 - £130 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist Alternative Provision in Bury that provides outstanding support to children and young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support. The setting adopts a nurturing and inclusive approach, focusing on building confidence, developing life skills and helping every student achieve their full potential within a safe and supportive environment.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will work closely with students displaying challenging behaviour, supporting both their academic progress and emotional development, while helping to maintain a positive and structured learning environment. Sports Coaches and Youth Workers are strongly encouraged to apply due to the transferable skills and experience they can bring to the role.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
• Experience supporting individuals with SEMH needs or behavioural difficulties
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
• A resilient, patient and proactive attitude
• Experience as a Sports Coach, Youth Worker or similar role is highly desirable
