TeacherActive announces leadership transition

After 18 years leading TeacherActive, Robin Browett has made the decision to transition from his role as Chief Executive Officer and begin the next chapter of his career, while continuing his relationship with the business as Special Adviser. 

Since joining the business, Robin has played a central role in transforming TeacherActive into one of the UK's leading education recruitment companies. During his tenure, the business has achieved significant growth, expanded its national presence, successfully navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and continued to evolve through changing market conditions. 

Alongside this, Robin has helped build a strong leadership team, invested in developing future leaders, and introduced many of the systems, processes and ways of working that have supported the business as it has grown. 

Having led the business through this exciting period of growth and change, Robin has decided that now is the right time to take a different approach to his career, allowing him greater flexibility while remaining involved with a business that has been such an important part of his life. 

To support a smooth transition, Robin will continue to work with TeacherActive as Special Adviser over the next two years. In this ambassadorial capacity, he will provide strategic advice and support to the Board and leadership team, helping to ensure continuity while continuing to share his extensive knowledge of the education sector, the business and its long-term strategy. 

Richard Taylor will take on the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer. A member of the TeacherActive Board, Richard has been with the business for five years and brings extensive experience from a long career in education recruitment. His knowledge of TeacherActive, its people and the wider education recruitment sector will ensure continuity and stability for the business as it enters its next chapter.

The Board would like to thank Robin for his outstanding leadership, commitment and contribution over the past 18 years and is pleased that the business will continue to benefit from his experience and guidance during the next phase of its journey.

Alongside this we have an important period of 'business as usual', and it remains important to drive additional growth in long term temporary and permanent business in September, through the autumn term into the January drive.
