Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £110 - £150 per day
Are you an experienced Attendance Officer with a passion for supporting student attendance and wellbeing?
Do you have strong organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff?
Are you confident monitoring attendance records, managing absence procedures and supporting safeguarding within a secondary school?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in South Birmingham, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Attendance Officer. The school is committed to providing a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to engage fully in their education and achieve their potential.
The school is looking to take on a proactive Attendance Officer on a full-time, long-term basis, working Monday to Friday from 08:30 until 15:30/16:00. The successful Attendance Officer will be responsible for monitoring and improving student attendance, following up on absences, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents, carers and the school's pastoral and safeguarding teams.
The successful Attendance Officer will have:
A good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
Previous experience working in a school attendance, administration or pastoral support role
Experience using school management information systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom
A good understanding of safeguarding procedures and attendance policies
Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills
A proactive, professional and approachable attitude with the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially
