TeacherActive is proud to be working with supportive secondary schools across Somerset, including areas such as Taunton, Bridgwater and Glastonbury who are looking to appoint confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors. These schools provide positive and welcoming learning environments where staff can develop their classroom experience, build relationships with students and gain valuable experience within UK education.

We are looking for Cover Supervisors for flexible, day-to-day temporary cover, with the freedom to work anywhere from 1 to 5 days per week depending on your availability. As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, manage classroom behaviour and keep students engaged with their learning, with opportunities for successful candidates to progress into longer-term school roles.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people, including within childcare, education, coaching or a similar setting
• Overseas teaching experience is welcomed for candidates looking to gain UK classroom experience
• Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students and delivering pre-planned work
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and school staff
• A proactive, adaptable approach and genuine interest in developing a career within education
