TeacherActive is working with a mainstream secondary/middle school in Sunderland that is looking for a reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join its team. The setting offers the opportunity to support pupils across a range of subjects while promoting positive behaviour, independence and a productive learning environment.

This is an immediate-start, temporary-to-permanent opportunity for a Cover Supervisor who enjoys the variety of working across different classrooms and year groups. You will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-planned work, manage classroom behaviour and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged throughout their lessons.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• A relevant education qualification or degree is desirable, although not essential

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary or middle school

• Experience supervising groups, managing behaviour or supporting classroom learning

• A good understanding of safeguarding and school expectations

• Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills

• A confident, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting pupils
