Cover Supvisor

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a confident and resilient Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong classroom management skills and experience supporting young people who display challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment by supervising lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

The Role

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
• Build positive relationships with pupils whilst maintaining high expectations.
• Support the school's behaviour policy and contribute to a safe, respectful learning environment.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student engagement.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Sports Coach or in another role supporting young people.
• Essential: Experience managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations confidently and professionally.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, resilient and adaptable, with the confidence to lead a classroom independently.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
