  • Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes that meet individual educational, language, and communication needs.

  • Support learners referred by Schools and Local Authorities who may have SEND, SEMH, EHCPs, medical needs, or barriers to mainstream education.

  • Adapt teaching strategies using creative and trauma-informed approaches to maximise engagement and progress.

  • Monitor learner progress and provide detailed feedback and reports to support educational outcomes.

Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification, such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or another recognised EAL/ESOL teaching qualification.

  • Proven experience delivering EAL/ESOL tuition or teaching in schools, colleges, Alternative Provision, community settings, or Local Authority services.

  • Experience planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality, individualised learning programmes.

  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs, or other additional educational needs.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.

  • The ability to work independently while building positive, professional relationships with learners and families.

Desirable Experience

  • Alternative Provision or Local Authority tutoring.

  • Supporting learners with MLD, SLD, PMLD, autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs.

  • Trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches to education.

  • Working with children and young people who have experienced interrupted education or are new to English.

In return, TeacherActive can offer:

  • A dedicated consultant available 24/7 to support you throughout your placement.

  • Access to an innovative and engaging curriculum.

  • High-quality CPD opportunities to support your continued professional development.

  • Market-leading rates of pay.

  • PAYE payroll with no hidden administration fees, ensuring you pay the correct Tax and National Insurance contributions.
