Sometimes, the biggest difference you can make in a child's education is simply being the person who believes in them.

TeacherActive are looking for passionate, caring and reliable Education Support Workers to work across our growing network of schools throughout Liverpool, The Wirral and Merseyside.

Whether you have experience working in education, supporting children with additional needs, working in care or youth services, or you're looking to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.

We work closely with Mainstream, SEND and Alternative Provision settings across Merseyside, providing opportunities ranging from day-to-day cover to long-term placements and potential permanent positions.

What could working as an Education Support Worker look like for you?

It might mean supporting a pupil on a one-to-one basis, helping them build confidence, develop independence and engage positively with learning.

It could mean working alongside teachers and support staff to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.

Or it could mean supporting children with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs, helping them overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements.

The important thing is that we'll listen to what you're looking for and try to find work that genuinely suits you.

We're looking for Education Support Workers who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or a similar setting

  • Are passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND and SEMH

  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Have a calm, patient and understanding approach

  • Can support pupils with their learning, emotional wellbeing and personal development

  • Are confident supporting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement in the classroom

  • Are adaptable, reliable and professional

  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Experience working with SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH or challenging behaviour would be beneficial, but we also welcome applicants with transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
