TeacherActive is working with a secondary-aged Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Monmouthshire that is looking for a dedicated English Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year.
The successful English Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons to secondary-aged pupils, adapting their teaching to meet a range of individual learning, behavioural and emotional needs. You will work closely with experienced support and pastoral staff to create a structured and positive classroom environment where pupils can re-engage with their education.
The successful English Teacher will:
- Hold QTS and have experience teaching English at secondary level
- Have strong knowledge of the English curriculum
- Be confident supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs
- Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management
- Be able to adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning needs
- Build strong, professional relationships with pupils
- Be resilient, patient and able to remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour
- Be passionate about helping pupils re-engage with learning and achieve their potential
Previous experience working within a PRU, alternative provision, SEMH setting or similar environment would be highly desirable.
Pay: £173 per day
