TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH provision based in Oldbury, which provides a nurturing environment focused on reducing challenging behaviour and promoting positive life choices. This short-stay provision supports students at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education, adopting a therapeutic approach to help young people develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The provision is looking to appoint an experienced English Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful English Teacher will deliver engaging English lessons to students across Key Stage 2 / KS2, Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, demonstrating strong behaviour management skills, adaptability and an understanding of the needs of young people with SEMH and challenging behaviours.
The successful English Teacher will have:
Qualified Teacher Status / QTS is desirable but not essential
Previous experience teaching English across KS2, KS3 and/or KS4
Experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
An understanding of therapeutic approaches and strategies to support students at risk of exclusion
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with a passion for supporting young people
