TeacherActive is proud to be working with several mainstream secondary schools based in and around the Wakefield area, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Geography Teacher to support students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. The schools provide a mainstream learning environment where students with a range of abilities and additional learning needs are supported to access the secondary curriculum.
The schools are looking to take on an enthusiastic Geography Teacher for day-to-day or long-term work, with an immediate start available. The successful Geography Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging Geography lessons, supporting students with GCSE and A Level preparation, adapting learning activities to meet SEND needs and maintaining effective classroom management.
The successful Geography Teacher will have:
A PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status / QTS
Experience teaching Geography across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 in a UK secondary school
Strong subject knowledge and experience supporting students with GCSE and A Level Geography
Experience adapting teaching and learning to support students with SEND
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
