TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Bristol that provides an inclusive, nurturing and engaging learning environment for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism and complex additional needs. The school is committed to delivering personalised learning experiences that promote independence, confidence and positive outcomes, supported by an experienced and collaborative staff team.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time HLTA on a long-term basis from September 2026. The successful HLTA will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver targeted interventions, lead small group and whole-class activities where appropriate, and provide high-quality support for pupils with Autism, complex medical needs and behaviours that challenge. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their individual goals.

The successful HLTA will have:

• HLTA qualification or relevant equivalent experience
• Experience working within a SEND school or specialist educational setting
• Knowledge of Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
• Experience supporting pupils with complex medical needs and behaviours that challenge
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to build positive relationships
• A positive, proactive and reflective approach to supporting children and young people
