IT Helpdesk Support

West Midlands/ temporary / £16 - 20 per hour

Job Title: IT Helpdesk Support

Rate: 16-20ph

Start: ASAP

Department: IT Services
Reports to: IT Manager


Purpose of the Role

Provide first-line technical support to staff and students, ensuring efficient resolution of IT issues and contributing to the smooth operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Helpdesk Operations
    • Act as the first point of contact for IT-related queries via phone or Helpdesk system.
    • Log, track, and resolve tickets using Jira Helpdesk software, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
    • Escalate unresolved issues to second-line support or external vendors as required.
    • Provide guidance and Support to staff and students on IT systems and best practices.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Technical Support
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware & software.
    • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
    • Support Office 365, Windows 11 builds, and other enterprise software deployments.
  • System Administration
    • Assist with Active Directory management, user account setup, and permissions.
    • Assist with Microsoft Azure management.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
