TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Street, supporting students aged 11 to 19 with a range of additional learning needs. The school promotes a strong "Learning for Life" ethos, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to develop their independence and achieve their individual potential.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant from September on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers and the wider support team to provide classroom-based support, encourage positive engagement with learning and help students develop their confidence, independence and personal skills, with training and ongoing professional development available.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential
• Experience or an interest in working with students aged 11 to 19 within a specialist education setting
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A willingness to learn and develop professionally
• A patient, caring and positive approach
• A proactive attitude and commitment to helping students reach their full potential
