TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Glastonbury that supports students with Specific Learning Differences / SpLD, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where specialist support and engaging learning opportunities help students develop confidence and independence.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support students aged 7 to 16 through one-to-one, small group and classroom-based support, helping learners engage with their education, develop independence and overcome individual barriers to learning.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Specific Learning Differences / SpLD
• Experience working with children or young people within an educational or similar setting
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• A patient, supportive and encouraging approach to working with learners
• A proactive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude
