TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Bridgwater that provides exceptional education and support for students aged 4 to 19, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school offers a welcoming, inclusive and nurturing environment, with specialist facilities that enable every pupil to develop independence, confidence and a strong sense of belonging.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant from September on either a permanent, part-time or day-to-day basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), moderate and severe learning difficulties, and sensory impairments, helping them engage in learning and achieve meaningful progress both in and out of the classroom.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or additional learning needs
• A caring, patient and adaptable approach to supporting learners
• Knowledge or experience supporting pupils with PMLD, ASC, learning difficulties, or visual and hearing impairments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes
