Learning Support Assistant

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Shaftesbury, supporting children and young people aged 5 to 19 with complex needs, including autism / ASD and emotional or mental health needs. The school offers extensive open green spaces with a mix of historic and modern buildings, on-site parking and an integrated therapy team including speech and language therapists, sensory integration-trained occupational therapists and educational psychologists.

The school is looking for an enthusiastic LSA to provide dedicated support to students, with flexible full-time and part-time opportunities available depending on how you prefer to work. The successful LSA will work alongside teaching staff and the wider specialist team to support students with their learning, engagement and individual needs throughout the school day.

The successful LSA will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting students with autism / ASD, complex needs or emotional and mental health needs
• An understanding of how to support students within a specialist educational environment
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and a willingness to support students according to their individual needs
