TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Bridgwater that provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of associated needs. The school is committed to helping every student feel safe, valued and understood, delivering personalised support that promotes confidence, emotional wellbeing and independence while enabling pupils to achieve their full potential.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), high anxiety, school refusal, ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and communication difficulties, helping to promote positive engagement, emotional regulation and meaningful progress both inside and outside the classroom.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEND or additional learning needs
• Knowledge or experience of supporting students with ADHD, PDA, school refusal or communication difficulties is desirable
• A caring, patient and resilient approach to supporting learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes
