TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist educational setting in Frome that provides a personalised, nurturing and structured environment for students with autism and complex learning needs. The setting promotes respect, resilience, teamwork, pride and courage, supporting learners to develop their confidence, independence and essential life skills.

The setting is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a full-time temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide one-to-one and small group support, promote positive behaviour and encourage independence while working closely with teachers and the wider support team to help students engage successfully with their learning.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with autism and/or complex learning needs
• Experience within a SEND, specialist education or similar setting is desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with learners and colleagues
• A caring, patient and resilient approach to supporting learners
• A proactive and adaptable attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
