TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist nurture provision in Glastonbury that supports pupils aged 5 to 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), the school provides a safe, structured and nurturing environment where trust, positive relationships and emotional wellbeing are at the centre of helping every young person achieve success.
The school is looking to appoint a committed Learning Support Assistant from September on either a permanent, part-time or day-to-day basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, working alongside teachers and the wider support team to promote positive behaviour, encourage engagement in learning and help students develop the confidence and resilience to reach their full potential.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviours
• A caring, patient and nurturing approach to supporting learners
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm, resilient and adaptable in challenging situations
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes
