Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist education setting in Yeovil supporting pupils from Years 1 to 8 who are unable to access mainstream education due to medical, mental health or vulnerable learning needs. The setting focuses on building strong relationships and providing a safe, supportive environment, recognising that meaningful learning happens when children feel secure.

The setting is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant ASAP on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide classroom-based and one-to-one support, adapt to individual learning needs and encourage pupils to develop their confidence, independence and positive engagement with education.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or additional learning needs is desirable
• Experience working with pupils with medical, mental health or vulnerable learning needs is advantageous
• The ability to provide effective classroom-based and one-to-one support
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with vulnerable pupils
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting learning
