TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist educational setting in Weston-super-Mare that is dedicated to enabling young people to achieve more than they believe is possible. The school provides a safe, nurturing and holistic learning environment, supporting vulnerable students and those unable to attend mainstream education to thrive both personally and academically while building confidence, resilience and independence.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support for students with a range of additional needs, encourage positive engagement with learning, promote emotional wellbeing and help every young person achieve meaningful progress both inside and outside the classroom.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
• A caring, patient and compassionate approach to supporting learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes
