We are currently looking for motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join the college on a long-term temporary basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in supporting their education, confidence and future success.

What will you be doing?

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to students across a range of subjects and courses.

• Supporting students with classroom activities, coursework and practical learning tasks.

• Helping learners stay focused, motivated and engaged throughout their lessons.

• Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.

• Working closely with lecturers to adapt support to individual learning needs.

• Providing note-taking assistance and helping students understand lesson content.

• Promoting positive behaviour, participation and a supportive classroom environment.

• Helping create an inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or support setting.

• A genuine passion for helping students learn, develop and achieve their goals.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

• A patient, approachable and encouraging attitude.

• Confidence supporting students both independently and within a team.

• Good IT skills and the ability to assist with note-taking and learning resources.

• The ability to adapt to different students, subjects and classroom environments.

• A good understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Previous experience within a college or Further Education setting would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant school-based experience are also encouraged to apply.
