Job Title: Lecturer in Plumbing, Heating and Gas
Hours per Week: 37
Expected Duration: Up until Christmas
Requested Start Date: 21/09/2026 (asap)
We are looking for someone who can deliver a range of core subjects, ideally including:
- Domestic hot and cold water systems (including complex installations)
- Domestic central heating systems (including complex installations)
- Drainage and sanitation
- Environmental and sustainable technologies
- Health & Safety within the Construction Environment
A broader understanding of the Construction sector would be an advantage, along with a commitment to inspiring and developing the next generation of industry professionals.
About the role
You will teach across a variety of full‑time and part‑time programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, including Construction T‑Levels (both core and occupational specialisms), depending on your industrial and/or teaching experience.
Qualifications needed for this role:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, Heating and/or Gas (or equivalent), or be able to demonstrate substantial industry experience in the field.
- Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent) is required.
- Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high‑quality theoretical and practical teaching
- Designing and improving learning experiences
- Planning and carrying out assessments in line with awarding body requirements
- Monitoring, recording and supporting student progress using college systems
- Contributing to strong student retention, achievement and progression outcomes
