TeacherActive is currently recruiting enthusiastic and caring Level 2 and Level 3 Nursery Practitioners to work across a variety of welcoming and supportive nurseries and Early Years settings throughout Coventry.
Whether you're a university student looking to earn money alongside your studies, an experienced Nursery Practitioner seeking a better work-life balance, or someone who simply doesn't want to commit to a full-time position, we would love to hear from you!
We understand that not everyone wants to work five days a week. That's why our flexible supply opportunities allow you to choose the days you're available, with placements offered around your schedule.
No full-time commitment required!
You could be looking for one or two days per week, occasional shifts or regular part-time work. TeacherActive can help you find suitable opportunities based on your availability and the needs of our partner nurseries.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education.
Have previous experience working with children aged 0–5 years.
Be passionate about supporting children's early learning and development.
Be confident supporting play-based learning and daily nursery routines.
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Be caring, patient, enthusiastic and reliable.
Be comfortable working across different nursery settings in Coventry.
Be happy to work on a flexible, temporary supply basis.
Be able to adapt to different age groups, routines and nursery environments.
Students studying relevant childcare, education or Early Years courses are encouraged to apply, particularly those who already hold a recognised childcare qualification and have relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support children aged 0–5 years in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
Assist with age-appropriate play and learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
Encourage children's communication, social skills and independence.
Support daily nursery routines, including mealtimes and personal care.
Build positive relationships with children, parents and nursery staff.
Work collaboratively with permanent nursery teams.
Follow nursery safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour policies.
Promote children's emotional wellbeing, inclusion and development.
Safeguarding & Compliance Requirements
To be considered for these opportunities, applicants must:
Be able to provide two professional references, ideally from recent childcare, educational or relevant employment settings.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service OR be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS through TeacherActive.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
Be willing to complete the necessary safeguarding and pre-employment checks.
Provide evidence of relevant childcare qualifications where applicable.
All placements are subject to satisfactory safeguarding and compliance checks.
