Nursery Practitioner

Location: Ilkeston, DE7
Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £14.25 - £16.50 per hour

TeacherActive is working with an Early Years setting in Ilkeston (DE7) that is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner. The nursery focuses on providing a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore their interests, develop independence and build the foundations for future learning through purposeful play.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will join the team on a full-time basis, working varied shifts which may start at 8:00am or finish as late as 6:00pm. You will support children's development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), create engaging learning opportunities through continuous provision and deliver individual and small group activities. You will also support children's daily routines, provide personal care where required and use your knowledge of the Early Learning Goals to encourage progress across all areas of development.

The successful Nursery Practitioner will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification, an equivalent qualification, or a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience within an Early Years setting
• A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum, Early Learning Goals and the importance of early childhood development
• Experience supporting children through continuous provision, play-based learning and engaging small group activities
• Confidence adapting activities to meet individual learning needs and supporting children with personal care and daily routines
• A warm, patient and enthusiastic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing. A driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential
