TeacherActive is recruiting on behalf of a fantastic early years setting in Colchester that is looking to appoint a qualified Nursery Practitioner to join their team. The nursery provides a welcoming, engaging and child-centred environment where children are encouraged to learn, explore and develop through play. This Nursery Practitioner position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with working hours falling between 8:00am and 6:00pm. The successful candidate will be placed within the most suitable room based on their experience, skills and the needs of the nursery. This will be discussed in more detail during the interview.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality care and support to children
• Supporting children's learning and development through play and planned activities
• Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
• Completing observations and contributing to children's development records
• Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
• Developing positive relationships with children and their families
• Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent care
• Supporting children's personal, social and emotional development
• Promoting children's independence and confidence
• Following safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures

The ideal Nursery Practitioner will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years or a relevant qualification
• Previous experience working in a nursery, pre-school or other Early Years setting
• A good understanding of the EYFS framework
• Knowledge of safeguarding and children's welfare
• Experience supporting children's learning and development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, caring and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A commitment to providing outstanding care and learning experiences
• A desire to develop their skills and progress within the Early Years sector
