Nurture Teacher

Location: Uxbridge, West London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Pay: £180–£270 per day, depending on experience

TeacherActive is working with a specialist education setting in Uxbridge that is looking for an enthusiastic Nurture Teacher to join their team.

The Role

As a Nurture Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and accessible lessons to pupils with a range of SEMH and additional needs

• Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment

• Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour or experience barriers to learning

• Adapt teaching to meet individual academic, emotional and social needs

• Develop strong, positive relationships with pupils to improve engagement and attendance

• Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff, SENCOs and other professionals

• Support pupils' confidence, resilience, independence and emotional regulation

• Monitor progress and contribute to individual support and education plans

The Ideal Nurture Teacher

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND and/or challenging behaviour

• Is confident delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Has excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills

• Can provide a consistent, patient and nurturing approach

• Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches to education

• Is adaptable, resilient and able to engage pupils who may have become disengaged from education

• Holds QTS/QTLS or has significant relevant teaching experience

• Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
