TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school based in Tonbridge, who are looking to appoint an experienced Physics Technician to join their Science Department. The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who can contribute to a positive learning environment and help ensure students have access to engaging and well-prepared practical science lessons.
The school is looking to take on a Physics Technician on a full-time, long-term basis, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful Physics Technician will be responsible for preparing and setting up practical Physics experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, managing resources and ensuring all activities follow relevant health and safety procedures.
The successful Physics Technician will have:
A relevant Science qualification, with a Physics specialism essential
Previous experience working as a Physics Technician or Science Technician, ideally within a secondary school
Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus and practical Physics experiments
A sound understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures, including COSHH
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage equipment and resources efficiently
A positive, proactive attitude with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
