TeacherActive is recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants for regular supply roles across Ilkeston and the surrounding DE7 region. We seek compassionate, reliable individuals who enjoy supporting children, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a classroom team. There is potential for regular supply work to develop into a long-term placement for the teaching assistant, offering the opportunity to build lasting relationships and become an established part of the school team.
Role Responsibilities:
Supporting the class teacher with learning activities.
Working with pupils individually and in small groups.
Helping children of varying abilities to access their learning.
Preparing resources and assisting with the organisation of classroom activities.
Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
Sharing observations of pupil's progress with the teacher.
Adhering to school routines and safeguarding procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
Relevant experience supporting children in a primary school setting.
A patient, caring and encouraging manner.
Ability to tailor support to individual learning needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive attitude with the willingness to take initiative.
Dependable work ethic and flexible approach.
Strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil well-being.
An Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
