Salary: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience and responsibilities)

TeacherActive is currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Halifax and the surrounding areas.

We work alongside local schools to provide reliable classroom support for day-to-day absences, additional pupil needs and longer-term staffing requirements.

We are looking for individuals who can confidently support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 while adapting to different classroom environments.

Although we aim to provide consistent placements at the same school wherever possible, the nature of supply work means you may be required to support different schools throughout the week.

This is an ideal opportunity for candidates looking for flexible employment, regular school-based work or the possibility of progressing into a permanent role.

The Role

Depending on your experience and the placement, you may be required to:

• Support teachers with classroom learning and daily activities.
• Work with individual pupils who require additional assistance.
• Deliver small-group interventions to support learning.
• Help children develop literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
• Deliver planned lessons or supervise learning where appropriately qualified as an HLTA.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience supporting children in a school or educational setting.
• Be confident working with primary-aged pupils.
• Have a positive understanding of inclusive education.
• Demonstrate patience, reliability and professionalism.
• Be adaptable when working across different schools.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hold relevant qualifications where applicable.
